Keeping us safe from coast to coast, and beach to bush
The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service is the largest and oldest non-profit aviation search and rescue service in Australia. It was established in 1973 and has since performed over 100,000 missions, with no one ever having to pay to be rescued.
Today, the national service is made up of 15 aircraft and 1 rescue boat, operating from 13 bases across Australia. The helicopter services perform a critical role for their communities – responding to emergencies including coastal search and rescue, inland motor vehicle and farming incidents, as well as transferring critically ill patients between hospitals. They need our help with critical resources, training & equipment to keep us safe from the sky.
